It was two years ago today that the Southern Rock world lost one of our true pioneers. Phil Walden, who was born in my home town of Greenville, SC, was the co-founder of Capricorn Records based in Macon, Georgia. Capricorn gave us many years of great Southern music, from The Allman Brothers Band to The Marshall Tucker Band, Wet Willie, Cowboy, Grinderswitch and so many others. On this day, we salute the legacy and career of Phil Walden. A major musical force. A good Southern man. A Southern rock pioneer.
Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.
