I'd like to take this opportunity to direct everyone's attention to the inimitable work of great southern writer Paul Hemphill. Hemphill's 15 books epitomize classic southern literature. Hemphill, a Pulitzer Prize Nominee, takes his readers down rural dirt roads through the south's most remote areas of sports, literature, music and southern culture.
Hemphill defeated throat cancer this year. His new book about Auburn football will be published in time for the 2008 season. Hemphill is currently at work on his latest book about his cancer experience tentatively titled Dancing With Joe Camel.
