Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters Premier New Music Video Today

Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters' video "The Poor House" will premiere on GAC - TV today. "The Poor House" is the lead track from The Boxmasters self-titled 2-CD set to be released on Sawmill/Vanguard Records June 10. (It's a great double album. Look for a review here soon.)

GRITZ was given a sneak preview of the music video, as well as it's follow up, "I'll Give You a Ring." Both videos are shot in a style reminicent of the 1960's, similar to American Bandstand, with the guys in suits and skinny neckties and a live '60's audience, enjoying every minute of The Boxmasters groovy sound. You just have to see this video to believe it. It's cooler than sharing a banana split at the drive-in theatre with your best gal while watching Valley of The Dolls.

The Boxmasters are W.R. 'Bud' Thornton, J.D. Andrew and Mike Butler - maintain a country sound with influences from The influence of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Kinks, and The Animals fused with Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Roy Acuff and Hank Williams.

GRITZ recently spoke with "Bud" Thornton about The Boxmasters and their swingin' new album. Check it out here.

The Boxmasters will begin a cross-country tour in July. Specific tour dates will be announced shortly. I can hardly wait to dig their crazy vibe.

Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.
