Between Texas and Hawaii
It's been a busy week here in the land of GRITZ and SWAMPLAND...
We are very happy to share the latest feature in our Legends of Southern Rock series, that "lil' ol' band from Texas," ZZ Top. Check it out here.
Them boys sure can play. I guess my favorite ZZ album is Deguello, followed closely by Tres Hombres, but I really like "Chevrolet" and and several other songs from the first two LPs. Truth be told, I love everything I have heard from them since I first heard the band in 1974.
I want to get personal for a minute, if I may. I want to share a picture of my daughter Hannah and her husband, Mr. J.C. Maxey. The two got married yesterday, April 30, 2008 by a Justice of The Peace in Hawaii, where J.C. serves in the US Navy. I wish to send my love to the kids, and wish them the best life two people could ever have together.
Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.

Hannah and James are a great couple. She is a dancer and he is a 'ripper', not a walker... they have many blessings before them and wish them the best...

Well congratulations Buffalo. My little girl got married 7 years ago and moved all the way to Australia, but she is happier than ever, so.. Your girl and her boy are truly a handsome couple. Must be surfers?

Your daughter is a babe. Do you think she might anull and reconsider. I am just past 40 and would treat her like a princess. Plus I work for Mercedes and can give her a new red sports coupe. Just kidding. Sort of. Congrats Buff.

Back in the early 70s we opened for Strawberry Alarm Clock and Iron Butterfly. I remember they had a pop song out but live they played Southern Rock. We were a Cream Cover Band and played Blues. I know Ed King went on to fame. It was an Outdoor festival in Myrtle Beach and at old campground with a Fort and a Village. Is there antone out there from the Alarm Clock that remebers that?

I loved ZZ Top from day one. My dream colaberation would be ZZ Top, Tony Joe White and a Little Known band called cold Blue Steel. Thanks for a great story.
