Greetings folks,

Much to report, but so little time. Just some updates before the water gets deep.

The Black Crowes new CD, Before The Frost, hit the streets yesterday—it’s high-grade music. Tonight the Crowes play the David Letterman show. The Crowes recorded their new album at Levon Helm’s Barn near Woodstock, New York. Helm’s band has been opening a few shows for The Crowes. Helm’s sidekick and former Bob Dylan band mate—Larry Campbell plays some unforgettable, fiddle, banjo and pedal on Before The Frost. Check out the other band The Crowes signed to their new Silver Arrow Records, the North Carolina band Truth & Salvage Company who will tour with the Crowes for the rest of the year.

The Widespread Panic/Allman Brothers tour proves beyond interesting. For the next couple of nights, the tour stops in Chicago, and look for some reports from the Windy City on this double-barreled show, which finds members from each band sitting in on other’s set.

Cormac McCarthy’s novel, The Road has been made into a film due in theatres on October 16. Look for the full review here. Robert Duvall, Charlize Theron and Viggo Mortensen star in this heart-rending tale about a father and son fighting for survival in a post-apocalyptic America.
