Lynyrd Skynyrd To Be Inducted Into Georgia Music Hall of Fame

It was announced today that The Georgia Music Hall of Fame will induct Lynyrd Skynyrd into the Hall this September. The Southern rock legends are being inducted on the heels of last year's induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and thirty years after the fatal plane crash that killed singer Ronnie Van Zant and others.

Other inductees include performer/songwriter Mylon LeFevre, r&b singer Usher, Jazz artist Freddy Cole and studio pioneer Babs Richardson.

The 29th annual ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the Georgia World Congress Center at 6:30 p.m. in the Thomas B. Murphy Ballroom.

The evening will begin with the Governor's Reception hosted by Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue, followed by dinner and the Georgy Awards Show with celebrity presenters and performances by Skynyrd, Usher, Johnta Austin, and Freddy Cole.
