Patterson Hood Song In New Ray McKinnon Film
9/12/07

Patterson Hood contributed a new song to Oscar-winning Ray McKinnon's latest film, Randy and the Mob. Hood and McKinnon remain old friends. Hood's old song "Sinkhole", rendered by his band The Drive By Truckers, appeared in Georgia-boy McKinnon's short film The Accountant.

McKinnon's new comedy includes a cast featuring McKinnon, his wife Lisa Blount and Burt Reynolds. Some of McKinnon's other movies include O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Chrystal and Come Early Morning prove his immense talent and instinct.

The great Spooner Oldham will join the Drive By Truckers for fall dates of their "The Dirt Underneath" tour, commencing in Nashville on September 27. The Truckers also serve as the back-up band on soul great Bettye Lavette's new album.

Hood plays a few solo show this week out west...
