Stuart Collins, Road Manager for Randall Bramblett Dies
Athens - We are sad to announce the death of Jeffrey Stuart Collins, 46, who died on September 15, 2007 from an apparent heart attack.
Stuart was the road manager of the Randall Bramblett Band of Athens.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Mandy Mears of Athens, Ga.; two daughters, Graham Collins and Olivia Collins; brother and sister-in-law, Travis and Rose Collins of Conyers, Ga.; two nephews, Robert Collins and John Collins.
On a personal note, I had just met Stuart earlier in the year at the Big House Foundation gala in Macon. He came out to my gig at 550 Blues following the gala, and we had a chance to speak for a while. Then I was fortunate to meet up with him again later in the year when Marshall Tucker played The Georgia Theratre in Athens. Stuart was a great guy, fun to talk to, and apparently a damn good road manager as well. He will be missed.
