I have been a Jewel fan since her first video. I love her voice, her songwriting and her cuteness. That is why I was thrilled to get word from her people today that Jewel's next album will be a country record.
Coming this spring, the record will be produced by John Rich of Big & Rich on the Nashville label Valory.
The first single from the album, "Stronger Woman," will be made available on iTunes February 5, and is already getting a good response on the radio.
"I think the sexes frustrate each other, and I wrote this song as an expression of that frustration," Jewel says.
"It's good for women to know they are capable of being independent and for men to know that, too. Nobody should feel trapped in any situation. Sometimes just knowing that you're free gives you the strength and courage you need."
Amen sister. I love it that you are an independent woman, but forgive me if I still stare in awe of your beauty. We'll be waiting by the mail box for the new CD.
Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.

I know what you mean. She is hot. Did you know she was in Greenville yesterday at WESC radio on her country radio tour? I'm surprised you didn't go meet her.
