Oklahoma State was not ready for a very powerful Houston offense and suffered a tough home loss to the Cougars, 45-35. While it doesn’t affect the Cowboys’ Big 12 title hopes, it definitely hurts their national perception.
We should give credit to Kevin Sumlin’s Houston squad, who is now back in the Top 25 for the first time since 1991. The Cougars have one of the top statistical quarterbacks in the nation in Case Keenum and will be one of the favorites to take the Conference USA crown.
However, Mike Gundy’s crew learned a valuable lesson as they try and catch Texas and Oklahoma: you have to be ready to play each and every week if you want to be one of the Big Boys of college football.
