Midnight Shakedown: Renaldo & Clara, Marc Ford & Widespread Panic...And Beyond

...A few lines during a last quiet moment this summer...It's an intense weekend for news...a death at Six Flags...a supermodel suicide...another week closer to a Presidential Election...a Midwest catastrophe continues...eerie Chinese Olympics...California wildfires...uneasy economics...obscure tensions begin to culminate in times of critical mass...
Today I posted an article I wrote a few years back about Bob Dylan's obscure classic film Renaldo & Clara. It provides a glimpse into an interesting avenue in Dylan's career as well as those of T-Bone Burnett, Ronnie Hawkins and Sam Shepard.
Last night, Friday June 27, the great Marc Ford sat in with the mighty Widespread Panic at Red Rocks. Ford hasn't played Red Rocks since his very last show with The Black Crowes in August 2006. Panic will also play Red Rocks Saturday and Sunday night.
Among other things, I'm still transcribing my conversation with Charlie Musselwhite as well as preparing for my interview with Steve Cropper on July 1. I'd like to mention the passing of The Dixie Hummingbirds' Ira Tucker as a notable loss.
Also, The University of Georgia's mascot--UGA IV--died today. All for now,
