Recorded live in Nashville at the Amsouth Amphitheater in July, 2003, Lyve is an excellent documentation of the highly successful Vicious Cycle tour the band has taken around the world during 2003.
The set list features all of the hits a Skynyrd fan would want to hear, along with some real surprises, and the show clocks in right at two hours. From the opening tune “That’s How I Like it,” the band kicks it out 150 percent, playing classics like “What’s Your Name,” “I Know a Little,” “Simple Man,” “That Smell,” “The Ballad of Curtis Loew,” “Tuesday’s Gone,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” and others mixed in with newer hits like “Workin’,” and the all American “Red, White and Blue.”
Everyone is in top form, and all three guitarists pull out all the stops. Gary Rossington, Hughie Thomasson and Rickey Medlocke burn the house down.
The DVD also features the full length music video for the moving “Red, White and Blue,” along with a photo gallery and more.
