This classic double-album has been given the remaster treatment for it's CD debut.
This is a truly wonderful release from Bare, featuring songs written by the late Shel Silverstein. Excellent songs include "Marie Laveau," a spooky song about a swamp witch. "Daddy What If," a country chart hit that featured a young Bare, Jr., and "The Wonderful Soup Stone," also recorded by Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show.
"The Mermaid" is a fishy love tale. "Sylvia's Mother," also recorded by Dr. Hook, who had a Top Ten with it is great, as are other fun cuts like "Tequila Sheila," "This Guitar Is For Sale," and "Sure Hit Songwriter's Pen."
Bare's vocal style works perfectly with Silverstein's music and lyrics, making for a truly timeless and excellent record.
