Under The Influence of Buck

by: The Derailers

The Derailers are one hot band. Brian Hofeldt, Ed Adkins, Scott Matthews, Sweet Basil McJagger and Chris Schlotzhauer are some rockin’ Texans.

On their new CD, the guys pay tribute to the late great Buck Owens, and they do it right. Covering thirteen of Buck’s best tunes, The Derailers smoke it from one end of the disc to the other. According to the band, it was Buck Owens and The Buckaroos that caused them to form back in the 1990’s, so the tribute holds a special place in their collective heart.

Standout tracks include “Love’s Gonna Live Here,” “Tiger By The Tail,” “Cryin’ Time,” “Big in Vegas,” and a rockabilly rave up of Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode.”

It’s a Bakersfield celebration done Austin, Texas style. Great playing, great fun.
