“Slammin’ down a late night shot
The Hero and the Artist compared
                             Goals and visions and afterthoughts
                             For the 21st century
But mostly came up with nothin’
So the truth was never learned…”
                                                     --Neil Young

David Capalbo opened Cappy’s Oyster Bar in November 2007. I checked Cappy’s out for the first time to watch Georgia play Kentucky in an intense football game with a friend of mine. The place contains 12 or 13 TV screens mounted on the walls showing alternate games, sports and channels on every screen. However, the most important three games of the day play on the big screens above the bar.

Being a coastal native, I’m always skeptical over seafood, but Cappy’s holds their ground and serves healthy portions. On various occasion, I’ve sampled the shrimp and oysters while I have yet to try the flounder. They even keep Stella Artois on tap as well as other imported beers, which indicates a subtle diversity.

At Cappy’s the female bartenders run the joint. There’s a gang of them—Jackie & Candance (photo above), Sam, and Sarah, with a couple new cute ones—and they’re all attractive and they all have their own fans. They keep things interesting behind the bar. They allow a respectable distance when I’m writing, or they might walk over and do a shot with you--if hour permits. There’s never really a dull moment, and the glass is always full. One can only hope these beautiful bartenders won’t intimidate other women on the other side of the bar from showing up...it's unlikely.

Cappy's now emerges on the map. If you're in the north Atlanta area check the place out. It’s always good to drink high-grade beer, eat oysters, enjoy a playoff game, and read your mail as the striking female barkeeps work, talk and laugh…
