Remembering Joann Pierce

by Michael Buffalo Smith

When Joann Pierce left this world last week, she was wearing her GRITZ Media laminate around her neck. She had requested it from her loving husband Rick, aka: "Music Man." She told him she may need it when she got to Heaven.

Joann was a strong lady in life, and even while heading toward the light. She told friends and family gathered around her bedside the day before she passed, "it's full throttle to Heaven."

During the past eight years, Joann attended countless rock and roll shows with Rick, and they always worked together to provide reviews and photos for the readers of GRITZ. Joann was also into posing with all of her favorite artists, oftentimes rivaling yours truly in that department.

As a lasting tribute to our friend and staff member, we present a few photos of Joann having fun all the way up until the end, always smiling. We love you Joann. See you on the other side.

This one says it all. "The Marx Twins." Just before her passing, she was clowning around with her Grandson. Note her GRITZ laminate as requested of Rick.

We Love You Joann!
