This morning, I rolled out of bed and picked up the first bedside book within reach and it was Willie Nelson's book, The Tao of Willie. This book contains poetic parables to help guide one through a crazy life filled with dilemmas, riddles and every day obstacles we all face with a sagely humor. It all boils down to focusing on positive elements...not negative. Willie's a national treasure...
I caught a glimpse of Stanley Booth's article he wrote for Newsweek on his longtime friend Jerry Wexler. The article details Booth's relationship with Wexler, and all the monumental signposts they experienced together in their 40-year friendship. His article will not disappoint. Tomorrow I'll be interviewing the great songwriter and director of The University of Georgia's music business school, Bruce Burch. Bruce sent my recent dispatch to his old friend Kris Kristofferson. Swampland will be working with The University of Georgia on some very exciting upcoming projects, and I feel proud to call Mr. Burch my friend. In these next couple of weeks I'll be highlighting some of the mighty artists to come from the state of Georgia.
