Today I'd like to bring the reader's attention to the work of Woodie Long. Born in 1942, Long grew up in Plant City, Florida, working in the fields to help his parents earn a living. Later Long worked as a house painter, but breathing dangerous fumes for long periods of time threatened his health. Long quit house painting, but soon began painting with his wife's art brushes scenes from his "memory". His paintings evoke vivid pictures of dancers, children, musicians, flowers, fields, urban landscapes, farmers and other indelible canvas work. Painters attract a limited audience...so view some of his work.
