single “Son of the South,” Molly Hatchet has been delivering the goods for close to 30 years. And while the lineup has changed (Bobby Ingram and Phil McCormack remain in the driver’s seats), the music has continued to be well written, and to once again use and often overused cliché, “kick ass.”The records have always been great, from the debut album Molly Hatchet and its follow up Flirtin’ with Disaster, all the way to their 2000 release Kingdom of XII, and last year's Warriors of The Rainbow Bridge.

Tribute to Molly Hatchet
Man, that Hatchet music,
Makes you move your feet around,
There's nothing like the feeling,
When the band is layin' it down,
There was a group of guys,
From down in Gator Town,
Livin' fast and playin' hard,
A rockin' Southern sound,
Other bands fell by the wayside,
Skynyrd, sadly, too,
Every member of the band,
Knew what they had to do,
They had to get the message out,
The music will survive,
It was Molly Hatchet's turn,
To keep Southern rock alive,
They knew their time was at hand,
They knew they had to go,
It was time to give the entire world,
A kick ass Southern show,
They started a tradition,
Let nothing hold them down,
They spread that Southern music,
From Vegas to little towns,
From Danny, Duane, Bruce and Dave,
To Bobby, Shawn and Phil,
The Hatchet tradition continues,
Growing stronger this day still,
They grabbed their axes and their drums,
They hit the road, and then,
With dedication and devotion, said,
The South will rise again,
They write the music and the lyrics,
That make you stomp your feet,
From the opening moment of their set,
You know they can't be beat,
Every album is a masterpiece,
Rockin', as it should,
Devil's Canyon will rock your bones,

The show is about to start,
They play with an intensity,
That thunders in your heart,
The opening bars of Bounty Hunter,
Flirtin' with Disaster, too
Leaves no doubt in anyone's mind,
What they intend to do,
These guys will make you scream and shout,
They'll make you clap your hands,
When you leave the show, you always know,
You've seen The Band of bands,
The journey is long and tiring,
As they go from day to day,
On the stage, they give their all,
It's Molly Hatchet's way,
They love the music and their fans,
There's nothing they won't do,
To keep this Southern music going,
They live it, proud and true,
The task of keeping Southern rock alive,
They've gladly taken on,
They'll continue this tradition,
After others are long gone,
Show after show, around the world,
They've proven Hatchet's worth,
As far as Rock and Roll's concerned,
It's the greatest show on earth,
It's time for this world to recognize,
What these guys have done,
They belong in Rocks "Hall of Fame",
As much as anyone,
To fans old and new alike,
They give that Southern joy,
And the word is spread, loud and clear,
They're bad ass Southern boys,
That sweet Southern music,
Really gets into my soul,
