I spent a few hours today digging through the GRITZ archives. There are still quite a few interviews and articles I'd like to reintroduce via SWAMPLAND. I was happy when I ran
across Scott Greene's excellent 2000 interview with Jimmy Farrar. Now this was before Jimmy got back into music. After this piece, Farrar would join fellow Molly Hatchet alumni for a benefit concert for an ailing Danny Joe Brown. The Dixie Jam Band, they called it, and they blew the roof off of the club in Florida that night. Later, Jimmy would join The Southern Rock Allstars for several rockin' years, and a few years ago, he joined his Hatchet brothers again in the band Gator Country. Here is the link to the Jimmy Farrar interview.
The other vintage interview is from Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Randall Hall, the man handpicked by Allen Collins to replace him in the band. My interview with Randall in 2001
met with rave reviews. We are happy to add it back into the archives. Here is the link to the Randall Hall interview,
Let me know how y'all like these. And look for more Vintage GRITZ coming your way soon.
Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.
