Angelus Event Begins On a Somber Note; Another Friend Gone
Posted: Dec 05, 2008I am deeply saddened to announce that another dear nusician friend has passed away. Our good friend Kerry Creasy, bassist for Tommy Crain and the Crosstown Allstars, passed away during the night from a heart attack.
Kerry's final show was nothing short of spiritual. He, Tommy and the band rocked the grand ballroom here at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa during the pairing party. The band played several of their own songs, as well as an amazing take on The Allman Brothers' :Hot 'Lanta."
Charlie Daniels strapped on a Les Paul to join the band on a set that included "The Legend of Wooley Swamp," "The South's Gonna Do it Again," "Trudy," and "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."
Kerry looked and sounded better than ever. He sang one of his songs as Charlie played guitar with Tommy Crain and Bob Rumer, It was awesome.
I learned of his passing this morning and it is still a shock. We are all mourning the loss of our friend, none more that his sweet wife Donna. Please keep her, the band and friends in your prayers. Tommy Crain says we will pay tribute to Kerry during the banquet tonight. Kerry was 53 years old. Godspeed brother. See you in the light.

Kerry was a great, bass player, a great friend, and a really great human being. It's hard to know what to say when people you know and love and admire cross over, and even harder when you know they loved you too. In a world where not all that many people care, it's hurts to lose the ones who really do. I love you, and I miss you brother, and I'll never forget you. I should have been there. God Bless you Donna, and God Speed to you, you mound of round sound. Your in a better space now somewhere beyond the stars, but you'll always be an ALL STAR in my book.
