GRITZ Loses Another Dear Friend: Barry Trotter Has Lost His Battle With Cancer

I just received word from Tommy Talton that our mutual friend Barry Trotter lost his hard fought battle with cancer this morning (Aug 10, 2009). Barry was the husband of Terry Reeves of Music Matters Entertainment who books Talton's band, Jimmy Hall, Tommy Crain & The Crosstown Allstars and many others.

I last saw Barry at Tommy's CD release party in Athens back in April. He seemed to be in good spirits, and was fighting a valiant fight.

Says Talton, "I know I already miss him and his smile and offbeat humor."

We will certainly all miss Barry,

There will be a family gathering at Barry and Terry's home. Then, on Sunday, Aug. 16. there will be a celebration of Barry's life at Zuffy's in Atlanta (as he requested). Details will be forthcoming..................
