SEC Daily Fever: Ole Miss Fans Hoping For a Monumental Season

Coming off a Cotton Bowl win and with quarterback Jevan Snead returning, the expectations at Ole Miss are as high as ever. The fan base has responded by buying up the entire season ticket allotment.
That's quite a statement for a program that has not won an SEC Title since 1963 and has not made a Championship Game appearance since the league split divisions in 1992 - the only SEC West team that hasn't done so.
With a light non-conference slate plus an SEC schedule that sees Bama and LSU come to Oxford and no Georgia or Florida, Houston Nutt’s club will have to manage those major expectations each and every week.
These are dizzying heights for both Nutt and the Ole Miss program. Detractors in Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge like to remind everyone of Ole Miss and their history of mediocrity as a reason not to believe. The safe money might be against the Rebels winning the SEC West, but the excitement will be off the hook in Oxford if they do.
How Ole Miss plays as the 'hunted instead of the hunter' will determine if they can finally get to Atlanta in December.
