Big 12 Daily Fever: Texas Says Revenge Not The Goal Against Texas Tech

Posted: Sep 16, 2009

Big 12 Daily Fever is the top Big 12 story of the day. Disagree? Let us know.

It was the signature highlight of the 2008 season- Michael Crabtree’s catch and score as Texas Tech upset undefeated Texas.

The Red Raiders caused a three-way tie in the South Division, which then sent Oklahoma to the league title game instead of the Longhorn squad who beat the Sooners. Texas had to settle for at at-large BCS berth while watching hated Oklahoma get a shot at the national crown.

With Texas Tech coming to Austin Saturday night, the Longhorn players are saying that last year doesn’t matter and it’s not about revenge.

Texas fans probably feel differently as they prepare to get loud and try to disrupt the vaunted Mike Leach offense. With Oklahoma struggling, UT fans can see this being their year to win the league, get a shot at the BCS Title game, and hopefully see Colt McCoy win the Heisman.

Even if they say revenge is not an issue, you have to believe that the Texas players will extra fired up Saturday night as they try to erase that Crabtree highlight from their minds.
