Big 12 Daily Fever: Nebraska Hopes Maturity Will Lead To Win Over Virginia Tech

Posted: Sep 16, 2009

Big 12 Daily Fever is the top Big 12 story of the day. Disagree? Let us know.

The game of the week nationally may be the Nebraska-Virginia Tech matchup.

The Cornhuskers have a lot to prove after they made some mental errors in last year’s 35-30 loss to the Hokies. The teams seemed fairly close in talent, but Virginia Tech did the little things better to win the game in Lincoln. Bo Pelini feels like he’s taking a more mature team to Blacksburg this season.

Last year’s contest seem to show that Nebraska was improving, but at the same time, not quite ready to be a powerful program like decades past. This Saturday, the ‘Huskers will look to show they are ready to compete with the big boys on the national stage once again.

Like FSU in the ACC, Nebraska has every resource to be an annual top 10 program.  They have to re-emerge as one to prop up the Big 12 North.
