Big 12 Daily Fever: Tonight's Missouri-Nebraska Clash May Decide the North Division
Posted: Oct 08, 2009A key game in the Big 12 North will take place Thursday night when the surprising Missouri Tigers host Nebraska. Gary Pinkel’s team has been one of the nice surprises of the early season, getting off to a 4-0 start behind budding superstar quarterback Blaine Gabbert. The Cornhuskers probably should be 4-0, but they suffered a painful last minute loss at Virginia Tech.
This contest not only means a lot for the North Division race this year, but also represents where these programs stand in the Big 12 overall. Missouri is trying to remain at the top of the Division despite losing superstars like Chase Daniel and Jeremy Maclin. Nebraska is trying to get back to national prominence after a few seasons that have been frustrating for the Husker fan base.
The team that prevails on Thursday will go a long way in showing that they are a serious player in the Big 12 landscape.
