SEC Daily Fever: Ole Miss Looks To Finish Strong

Posted: Oct 29, 2009

As Ole Miss prepares to travel to Auburn this Saturday, Houston Nutt's team will look to build the same second half of the season momentum that they did in 2008.

The Rebels were 3-4 after last year's loss to Alabama, but they would not lose again. They ended the season on a six-game winning streak, including the Cotton Bowl victory over Texas Tech.

A few weeks ago, Ole Miss stood at 3-2 after losing to Alabama and seemed very out of sync on offense. They got back on track last week with a 30-17 win over Arkansas, and the main reason was getting the ball to super weapon Dexter McCluster.

The 5-foot-8, 165-pound senior had a monster day vs. the Hogs, rushing for 123 yards and also adding 7 catches for 137 yards and a score.  If the Rebels can also get quarterback Jevan Snead to be more consistent, they could be a force in the SEC race down the stretch.
