Big 12 Daily Fever: Kansas State-Nebraska Clash Will Decide The North

Posted: Nov 17, 2009

Kansas State travels to Lincoln on Saturday, and they will battle Nebraska for the North's berth into the Big 12 Title Game. Bill Snyder has returned to the Wildcats sideline this season and once has again them competing for at least a Division crown. Nebraska has been up and down but would love to get back in the national spotlight by winning against K-State and having a chance to upset Texas. As the Dallas Morning News points out, this game has the feel of a Big 12 battle from a decade ago:

"Kansas State and Nebraska will decide the Big 12 North title and who gets the trip to Cowboys Stadium next month in a meeting that carries a '90s vibe.

From 1996 to 2000, either Nebraska or Kansas State represented the North in the title game. Since then, each has made one appearance. Kansas State stunned Oklahoma, 35-7, in 2003. Nebraska fell to the Sooners, 21-7, in 2006."

Many believe that Nebraska and their stellar defense would give the league its best shot at a compelling and competitive Conference Title game. They will have the chance to earn that right at home against an always dangerous K-State squad.
