SEC Daily Fever: Championship Game Becomes the "Southern" Super Bowl

Posted: Dec 04, 2009

It’s finally here.  #1 vs. #2. Florida vs. Alabama- 24 wins and no losses. Winner goes to the BCS Title Game, while the loser heads reluctantly to the Sugar Bowl. The hype is being cranked up, the Governors have made their wager, and now we're all ready to kick back and watch some good ole Southern football at its best.

There are Heisman candidates (UF's Tim Tebow, Bama's Mark Ingram), top defenses, top recruits at every position, and two of the leading coaches in the nation involved in this highly-anticipated rematch. The Gators rode last year's victory to a national crown, and now the Tide will try to do the same in 2009.

Whatever happens on Saturday, let's hope the actual game lives up to the year-long anticipation. Once again, the SEC will see the bright spotlight of the college football nation in its annual Title clash in Atlanta.
