SEC Daily Fever: Bama Win Keeps SEC on Top

Posted: Jan 09, 2010

The SEC captured a fourth straight National Title Thursday night with Alabama’s 37-21 win over Texas in the BCS Championship Game. The Tide took advantage of the injury to Texas quarterback Colt McCoy and held off a late rally to take the league’s overall BCS Title record to 6-0. Many around the country believe there is a cloud over this win with the McCoy injury, but Bama fans will not be listening to that sentiment as they celebrate their first title since 1992.

In only his third season in Tuscaloosa, Nick Saban took the Tide to the top of the college football mountain. Many media members questioned the staggering salary of the mercenary (it’s okay to smile when you win it all Nick) coach when he arrived at Bama, but that money has already been recovered by the University. We’ve written many times about the value of top-notch coaches, and there is no reason why SEC schools will not continue to pay top dollars to attract the best football generals in the country.

Honorable Mention SEC Headlines:
