Charlie Daniels Suffers Mild Stroke

Charlie Daniels is recovering from a mild stroke he suffered while snowmobiling in Colorado.

Charlie, 73, suffered the stroke Friday. He was first treated at a hospital in Durango, then airlifted to a Denver hospital. He was released on Sunday.

He was snowmobiling with his wife and friends when he suffered the stroke. He's now back at his Durango-area vacation home, according to CDB publicity director Paula Szeigis. She says that he doesn't plan to cancel any concerts. His next appearance is scheduled for Feb. 27 in Fort Pierce, Fla.

"Yes he did have a stroke, but they were able to get him a shot and get it taken care of," Charlie Daniels Band bassist Charlie Hayward tells GRITZ. "I just talked to him and he's doing fine."
