On June 28 a Buddy Holly tribute album--Rave On--will be released. The 19 Holly songs on Rave On feature artists such as My Morning Jacket, The Black Keys, Paul McCartney, Justin Townes Earle, Ivan Neville, Patti Smith, Graham Nash, Lou Reed, The Detroit Cobras, Cee Lo Green and others.
Buddy Holly died in a tragic plane crash at the age of 22 in 1959. Holly would have been 75 on September 7. Rave On,
