Upcoming Interview with Chuck Leavell
9/9/08

A couple of hours ago, I conducted an interview with the legendary Chuck Leavell. Chuck told me it was a perfect time to talk. He was out with his dogs on his 2500 acre tree farm in middle Georgia. Chuck is a southern gentleman of the highest order. His work in forest awareness brings him almost as much attention as his musicianship. One cannot remain a member of The Rolling Stones for almost 27 years and not be a serious player...
Chuck is a busy man, but he told me if I ever wanted to do another interview to call him. I think periodically it will be good to do an interview with him to catch everyone up on his latest endeavors. We talked about his about-to-be-launched new web site, tree farming, his books, his latest music releases and upcoming projects, Widespread Panic and of course The Rolling Stones. I had so many questions and so little time...
I look forward to seeing Chuck next weekend at the Georgia Music Hall of Fame Ceremony where he will be inducting Widespread Panic. I was asked by Panic to write their bio which will appear in the 2008 Georgia Music Hall of Fame Almanac, and it should be a memorable evening. Next week, I'll be focusing on events and artists surrounding the Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductions each day. I'll be in the mix, so it will bring some good stories to tell.
Chuck Leavell remains a hero for everyone...not just southern folk...although Chuck is a pioneering southern artist, his music and tree awareness crosses all global boundaries. His work should be sought out. I should have this interview up in the next few days to coincide with all the music ongoings of next week. Until later,
