Robert Randolph (The Robert Randolph Family Band), Cody & Luther Dickinson--including Chris Chew--(North Mississippi All-Stars) and John Medeski (Medeski, Martin & Wood) comprise The Word. The group's powerful 2001 self-titled CD caused a stir among music fans. The Word re-groups in late December for a string of shows.
