Lots of great music rocked my world in 2007. Here are my choices for the 15 best of the best. Feel free to log on and comment. Let me know if you agree or disagree.
15. Magic Bruce Springsteen There were a couple of "non Southern" releases in 2007 that rocked my world. None more so that Bruce and The E-Street Band's return to their good old rocking sound. This one could have easily followed Born to Run.
14. Carolina Dreams Tour 1977 The Marshall Tucker Band A fantastic live CD and DVD from the MTB archives featuring the Caldwell Brothers.
13. Bobby Bare Sings Lullabys, Legends and Lies The classic album of Shel Silverstien tunes issued as a two CD set and every song is good.
12. Dylan (Box set) A 3 disc retrospective that covers Bob Dylan's entire career. Not Southern, but very, very important music.
11. Reloaded Point Blank Texas rockers Point Blank reunite with a live set that is blistering. Rusty Burns smokes on the slide.
10. Some People Change Montgomery Gentry They are classified as country, but to me, Eddie and Troy are Southern rockers at heart. This one rocks.
9. Beautiful Door Billy Bob Thornton Great, introspective and meaningful lyrics set to an Americana/Country vibe.
8. My Kind of Country Van Zant Donnie and Johnny return with another country fried winner.
7. Mighty High Gov't Mule Warren Haynes and the boys just get better with age.
6. Deuces The Charlie Daniels Band A bunch of rockin' duets. I love this record!
5. The Next Adventure The Marshall Tucker Band Lots of great tracks and one beautiful duet called "I Love You That Way" that gets stuck in my head.
4. I Will Obey Jo Jo Billingsley White Totally awesome rocking gospel debut from one of the original Lynyrd Skynyrd Honkettes.
3. Build Your Own Fire Jimmy Hall Jimmy's soulful tribute to Eddie Hinton.
2. Raising Sand Alison Krauss and Robert Plant Unlikely duo of the year (maybe the decade?) these guys turned out one fine sounding record.
1. Brothers of the Southland Great new music from a legendary line up of musicians, includes: Jimmy Hall , Henry Paul, Steve Gorman, Dan Toler, Steve Grisham, Jay Boy Adams, American Idol winner Bo Bice and others. One of the finest Southern Rock tributes in years.
Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.

As a member of Bo Bice's fan club, I think Brothers of the Southland gives us some great new music. I just love Bo doing "Can't You See". He is totally awesome.
