The Impending Onslaught of The Drive By Truckers

Congratulations to The Drive By Truckers on Booker T. Jones’ Grammy-winning Potato Hole…since The Truckers served as the band on the disc. The impending onslaught of The Drive By Truckers’ upcoming tour schedule, new album and various projects proves 2010 will be quite monumental for the Athens, Georgia group.

The Truckers are also assisting in Haiti relief and Patterson Hood writes a few words on the band’s website on how to help. Patterson also scored the soundtrack to the new Hal Holbrook film as well as hosting his annual Guitar Pull in Athens on February 24 for the Robert Osborne Film Festival.

With the Truckers’ new album—The Big To-Do—coming out in March, a Barr Weissman documentary on the band titled The Secret To

A Happy Ending will preview in San Francisco on February 5. I look forward to seeing it. From what I heard it's a glorious and gritty tale of The Drive By Truckers' inimitable rock and roll journey. More Truckers news soon...
