The Rising Tide of Widespread Panic
The rising tide of Widespread Panic rapidly approaches. The Athens, Georgia, band enjoyed a successful run behind the group's latest studio release Dirty Side Down. Drummer Todd Nance played shows with his side band The Romper Stompers earlier this month while guitarist Jimmy Herring conducted a month-long solo tour and bassist Dave Schools toured with Stockholm Syndrome.
This weekend, Widespread Panic will play on December 30 & 31 in Denver to bring in 2011. Last year, like most, Panic played NYE in Atlanta. It must be noted that, other than Georgia, Panic has played more shows in Colorado than any other state.
Members of Panic remain busy in January 2011. Panic keyboardist John Hermann and Dave Schools will travel on the Jam Cruise during January 4-10. Schools will play with Stockholm Syndrome and Hermann with the Mardi Gras Band.
On the weekend of January 21-23, Panic singer John Bell will host the 12th Annual Hannah’s Buddies Charity Golf Classic in Orlando. Bell, the Drive By Truckers, Bobby Lee Rodgers and Nickel & The Polar Bears serve as the tournament’s musical guests. 2011 counts as Widespread Panic’s 25th Year Anniversary. Watch the waves begin to roll in…soon…
