Buffalo Set To Roam to Rome: Random Notes on College Football and Sugarland

Well, tomorrow will find the Buffalo roaming once again. This time Jill and I are heading back tio The High Lonesone Saloon in Rome, Georgia, where I will once again be wearing two hats. Not only will I be reporting on the show, but I will be performing in a songwriter's circle along with Donnie Winters and Amanda Martin. We are opening for Tommy Crain & The Crosstown Allstars and hedliners The Tommy Talton Band. Oh, it's going to be fun. And rumor has it, another Swampland personality may be joining us for the festivities. I sure hope so...

Hey, it's that time of year again. College football, sports fans. I have always been torn between supporting Clemson and USC. I attended USC, but my step children are hard core Clemson fans. In fact, my recently married step son Benjamin is a Clemson fan, and his wife Austin is a died in the wool Gamecock. I hope the marriage can survive the season! (Just kidding, kids.)

Throughout my life I have gone through phases of supporting the Gators, the Tar Heels, the Georgia Dawgs and over the past few years, The Crimson Tide. Which is why I haven't spoken to Benjamin this week, I didn't know what to say after his Tigers got spanked by the Tide. LOL. Speaking of football, you just have to check out this article here in Swampland that explores each Southern state's football tradition. (Oh, while you're at it, read about the South Eastern Conference's domination of college football.)

I can't say enough about the new Sugarland record. The thing is, it's obvious that Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush grew up on much of the same music as I did, from great Southern Rock to The Eagles, Willie Nelson, Reba McEntire and Garth Brooks. All of the influences are there, and on their thire release,  Love On The Inside, they outdo themselves. Check out my review of the Deluxe Fan Edition here.

I'll be on the road tomorrow, but keep checking back. I'll have that road report up soon, and there are several good interviews and reviews coming very soon to GRITZ.

Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.
