The James Burton Guitar Festival

....Interviewing the King of the Telecaster, James Burton, ranks as a great thrill for me...

James Burton's musical accomplishments outshine any other guitar player. He's played and recorded with over one thousand artists. He's played on albums with Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Ricky Nelson, Merle Haggard, Hoyt Axton, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Presley and countless others.

On March 31 through April 2, 2007, Mr. Burton will host his stellar second annual James Burton International Guitar Festival at the historic Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Some of the guests scheduled to appear at this year's festival includes Dickey Betts, Ed King, Chris Isaak, Rick Derringer, Lee Roy Parnell, The Cox Family, Doyle Dykes and Rick Vito.

The James Burton Foundation is dedicated to raising money to provide technical training, music lessons, and free guitars to young musicians. Mr. Burton remains concerned about helping young people from the community where he grew up. Mr. Burton is not only a legendary guitar player, but a fine southern gentleman. Seek out his music, his signature guitars and his indelible foundation.
