He brought country music into the Byrds, performed with Paul Suratt in the Shilos, played with the Flying Burrito Brothers, discovered and played with Emmylou Harris, became close friends with Rolling Stones (especially Keith Richards) and discovered Delaney and Bonnie. All of this before overdosing in 1973 at the age of 26.
