Double Wide & Live

(Yep Roc)

The South’s #1 party band is back with a red-hot, Dixie-fried, live set that smokes from beginning to end. Recorded live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, DoubleWide & Live is Southern Culture On The Skids in their true element - live onstage.

From the opening rockabilly riffs of “Come & Get It,” SCOTS rocks through song after song with tongue in cheek fun and absolutely serious musical precision. “MojoBox” rocks in this live version, not that the studio track didn’t, mind you. I still find it hard to believe that all this music is coming from just three people - Dave Hartman on drums, Mary Huff on bass and Rick Miller on guitar. They are the bomb. “The Wet Spot” is 110 MPH rock, and there’s an awesome version of one of my personal favorites, “Liquored Up and Layered Down,” dedicated to “Big Hair” and “High Balls.” I love it.

And the hits just keep on comin’ - “Doublewide" is another favorite, “69 El Camino;” “Mexi-Melt” - this is one smokin show. And as if that weren’t enough, there’s a second disc with more audio - including the first song I was ever exposed to by Southern Culture - “Too Much Pork For Just One Fork,” along withenhanced CD Rom video of the live show.

Double Wide and Live is one of the hottest live records I’ve heard in a mighty long time.
