The Steep Canyon Rangers are one of the finest bluegrass bands playing today.

They have already won the IBMA’s “Emerging Artist” award and are just beginning a career that is sure to keep them at the top of the bluegrass charts for years to come.

Produced by IBMA award-winner Ronnie Bowman, Lovin’ Pretty Women finds The Steep Canyon Rangers digging even deeper into the traditional bluegrass mine. The band’s original music (they began writing together while attending The University of North Caroplina) is smooth, sophisticated bluegrass.

The Steep Canyon Rangers are Graham Sharp (banjo, lead and harmony vocals), Woody Platt (guitar and lead vocals), Charles R. Humphrey III (bass and harmony vocals), Mike Guggino (mandolin and harmony vocals), and Nicky Sanders (fiddle and harmony vocals).

Delivering songs that range in topic from coal mine workers to love, life and some good ol’ gospel (“Be Still Moses”), The Rangers stand and deliver with some beautiful, squeaky tight vocal harmonies and superb instrumentation. An outstanding recording worthy of another IBMA award.
