The legendary Bonnie Bramlett has teamed up with the very excellent Mr.Groove Band for an outstanding recording featuring a couple of original songs and some fine cover tunes.

Bonnie kicks things off with a rousing rendition of “Love The One You’re With,” a song written by her friend Stephen Stills, and there’s an excellent take on Chuck Berry’s “No Particular Place To Go.” There are two Bonnie Bramlett co-writes, both very good, including “Gotcha,” and “I Can Laugh About It Now,” co-written with daughter Bekka, Gary Nicholson and Lee Roy Parnell.

Bonnie sounds as great as ever, delivering the goods every time. Between this excellent album of blues and jazz, her work with jam band Old Union, and her recent reunion with the guys in the Capricorn Rhythm Section, Bonnie is keeping busy. (She is also acting in the upcoming Kevin Costner film on the silver screen) Truth be told, it looks like the stars have aligned for a real resurgence in Ms. Bramlett’s career. Something we are all very lucky to witness.
