ACC Daily Fever: Clemson Shakes Up The ACC With Its OT Win At Miami

Posted: Oct 26, 2009

Dabo Swinney got the biggest win of his young career on Saturday as Clemson defeated Miami in a 40-37 overtime thriller.

The Tigers were led by C.J. Spiller's school-record 310 all-purpose yards and now sit atop the Atlantic Division standings.

Clemson trailed seven different times in this back and forth affair, but Kyle Parker was able to hit Jacoby Ford for a 26-yard game-winning touchdown pass on a 3rd and 11 play in the first overtime.

Things looked pretty bleak for Swinney's club two weeks ago when they dropped to 2-3 after losses to TCU and Maryland. After finding their offense in wins against Wake Forest and Miami, the Tigers now control their path to the ACC Title Game.  Considering FSU's ongoing Bowden issue and UNC's slower than expected growth, Clemson is in position to put a stranglehold on the ACC Atlantic for a quite a few years to come.

As for the Hurricanes, it was a tough loss that leaves them needing help to achieve their goal of winning their first Coastal Division crown as Georgia Tech now sits in the Costal's pole position.
