ACC Daily Fever: Paul Johnson Has Changed the ACC Landscape

Posted: Oct 27, 2009

Georgia Tech's running attack has the Yellow Jackets in the driver's seat in the Coastal Division and has the league's defensive coordinators very frustrated. As has happened with many option schemes over the years, it was only a matter of time before the other conference coaches and players questioned Tech's blocking methods.

Virginia Tech sent video to the ACC office after their loss in Atlanta, alleging that many blocks were illegal. Paul Johnson called the allegations 'a joke' and said:

They got out-schemed. So it’s illegal to out-scheme them, I guess.”

Two things are for sure: Georgia Tech's scheme is changing the conference, and the scrutiny from their opponents of their running attack and blocking will not end soon.
