ACC Daily Fever: Bowden Needs Wake Victory To Secure Bowl Bid, Quell Fan Unrest

Posted: Nov 13, 2009

At 4-5, Florida State is staring at the distinct possibility of not making a Bowl game if they cannot beat Wake Forest in Winston-Salem on Saturday.

The Demon Deacons enter the game fighting mad after losing four in a row, including a 1-pont defeat against Miami and an overtime loss at Georgia Tech last week. Jim Grobe's team has beaten FSU three years in a row, and they will need to do so again to get their season back on track.

With star Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder out for the season, the Seminoles needs leadership more than ever as they try and save the season. Unfortunately for FSU fans, the most discussed topic in Tallahassee this week has been the confused and random rant of Bobby Bowden after the Clemson loss last week. It has the fan base asking the question more and more about the long term future of the program under Bowden.

It currently looks like the Bowden will be back at the helm for the 2010 season. He has been called  "just a figurehead" by many fans and media members for a few years now. If the Noles miss out on a Bowl game in a relatively weak year for the conference, the chants for change will continue to increase around the Florida State program.
