On Thursday I interviewed John Sayles. Sayles' new movie Honeydripper was filmed in Alabama. Honeydripper stars Danny Glover, Stacy Keach, Charles S. Dutton, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Mary Steenburgen and Sean Patrick Thomas. Featured musicians in the film include Keb Mo, Dr. Mable John (a Ray Charles Raylette), Gary Clark Jr. and Eddie Shaw (Howlin Wolf's saxophone player).
Mr. Sayles, an ultimate professional, discussed Honeydripper, filming in Alabama, southern literature, music and other interesting topics in this interview. Honeydripper is worth the money...
Also on Thursday, I visited Lance Ledbetter. Lance is the president of the Atlanta record company called Dust To Digital. I reviewed a Dust to Digital Christmas album as a seasonal prelude to my upcoming feature where I'll review each release, interview Ledbetter and provide insight into this inimitable southern entity.
