...Atlanta's Black Crowes Prepare for the Warpath...

Today the Black Crowes launched their new 2008 website along with a song from the upcoming new Crowes record Warpaint. The new song, "Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution" features the Crowes new guitarist Luther Dickinson (as well as Adam McDougall who replaced Ed Harsch on keys).

Recorded in the fall of 2007, Warpaint will mark the Crowes first studio album release since 2001 (Lions). After the Lions tour, Chris and Rich Robinson pursued solo careers. In early 2005, The Crowes regrouped with Marc Ford and fans testify this run ranked among the band's best since Ford's forced departure from the group in 1997. Ford quit the Crowes in September of 2006 and pursued a solo career. Producer Paul Stacy (The Lost Crowes & Warpaint) filled in as the band's guitarist until sometime last year when Luther Dickinson became part of the Crowes' variegated musical tapestry. Chris Robinson sang with The North Mississippi Allstars on various occasions and Luther and Rich played in a band early last year called Circle Sound.

It should be a very interesting year for the Black Crowes. I look forward to Warpaint and the early Atlanta gig on March 9. More later...
