One of the South's most distinguished outdoorsmen, Michael Gowen, owns Southeast Adventure Outfitters, an organization dedicated to launching folks on kayak trips to some of the remotest areas of coastal Georgia.
Gowen, a graduate from the University of Georgia, started Southeast Adventure Outfitters in 1994. These kayak tours operate year around that explore St. Simons, Jekyll, Blackbeard and Cumberland Islands as well as the Altamaha and Satilla rivers.
